The project

For Bumble’s campaign ‘Modern Romance’ - an exploration of all things dating, romance, sex, gender and everything in between - we hosted an intimate lunch with key media and social personalities where we uncovered Bumble’s latest research insights and fostered meaningful conversations around kiwi’s openness to sex. A room filled with honesty, curiosity, support and a lot of laughter is the kind of ‘ladies who lunch’ we love.

Our approach

The research around Modern Romance looked at intimate topics including igniting attraction, sexual confidence, stigma, sexual experience, ethical non-monogamy, rejection and self esteem, sexual compatibility, and the impact of pop culture on sex and intimacy, so we wanted to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where guests felt supported to talk about their own opinions and experiences. Taking inspiration from early 17th century ‘salon’ style events - an important place to exchange ideas - Hustle & Bustle created  an intimate lunch event in The Libraries Lounge at Hotel Britomart. Seated in plush armchairs and sofas, guests dined on shared grazing platters and bespoke Bumble cocktails as they heard from Melbourne-based leading Psycho-Sexologist Chantelle Otten and Bumble’s APAC Communications Director on insights and findings from the Modern Romance report. This relaxed and cozy setting enabled open, honest and meaningful discussion between guests.
